WH Question Words In Urdu

WH QUESTION WORDS IN URDU

We use question words to ask certain types of questions. We often refer to
them as WH words because they include the letters W - H. Here are list of WH
Words in Urdu :

1. Aapka Naam kya hai ? / Tumhara Naam kya hai ?

· Naam = name

· Hai = indicating present tense

2. Aap/Tum kaha rehtey ho?(if u ask to boy) or

Aap/Tum kaha rehti ho ?(if u ask to girl)

== (Where do you live?)

· Aap/Tum = you

· Kaha = where

· Rehtey = live

· Ho = indicating present tense

3. Aapko/Tumko konsa rang pansad hai?

== (Which colour do you like?)

· Aapko/Tumko = to u

· konsa = which

· rang= color

· pasand = like

· hai = indicating present tense

4. Ye ladki kon hai ? or Ye ladka kon hai ?

== (Who is this girl ?)

· Ye = this

· Ladki = girl

· Ladka = boy

· Kon = who

· Hai = indicating present tense

5. Aap/Tum Ye kyo kehrahey ho?(if u ask to boy) or

Aap/tum ye kyo kehrahi ho ?(if u ask to girl)

== (Why r u saying this ?)

· Aap/Tum = you

· Ye = this

· Keh-rahey/Keh-rahi = saying/telling

· Ho = indicating present tense

6. Wo kaisa hai?/ Wo kaisi hai ?

== (How is he?/How is she?)

· Wo = indicating he/she

· Kaisa/kaisi = how

· Hai = Indicating present tense

7. Bombay se Hyderabad kitna door hai ?

== (How far is Hyderabad from Bombay ?)

· Bombay se = from Bombay

· How far = Kitna door

· Hai = indicating present tense

8. Indore se Bombay pahochney me kitna waqt lagega ?

== (How much time will it take to reach Bombay From Indore?)

· Indore se = from Indore

· Pahoch-ney me = to reach

· Kitna=How much

· Waqt,Samay = time

· Lagega = will take (indicating future tense 'Ga')

9. Waha kitney Bacchey hai ?

== (How many kids are there?)

· Waha = there

· Kitney = How many

· Bachchey = kids/children

· Hai = indicating present tense

10. Aapke/Tumhare pass kitney Rupey(Rupess) hai?

== (How much money do you have?)

· Aapke/tumhare = you

· Pass = have

· Kitney = howmuch

· Hai = indicating present tense

11. Aap/Tum kitne saal ke ho ? == (How old are you?)

· Aap/Tum= you

· How Old = Kitney saal

· Ho = indicating present tense

12. Ye bag kiska hai ? == (Whose bag is it?)

· Ye = It

· Kiska = Whose

· Hai = indicating present tense

13. Aapne/Tumne kisko dekha ? == (Whom did you see?)

· Aapne/Tumne = you

· Kisko = Whom

· Dekha = Saw(did see)

14. Woh kab gaya ?(if ur askin about boy) or

Woh kab gayi? (if ur asking about girl)

== (When did he/she leave?)

· When = Kab

· Who = he/she

· Gaya/Gayi = Went (2nd form of verb)
